About the course

This non-accredited short course is the perfect opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge with clients and residents who have Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes. You will learn about what is diabetes, identification, blood glucose monitoring, insulin administration and emergency responses.

Learn new skills

During this course you will learn;

What is diabetes?
Complications of diabetes
Diet for people with diabetes
Identification & monitoring care needs
Blood glucose monitoring
Insulin administration by pen device
Factors influencing insulin effects
Emergency responses

Assessments

You will be assessed a number of ways. These methods may include:

Short answer questions
Observation in the workplace.
